Central Rivers AEA The Student Tech Conference

Friday, April 26, 2019
8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Central Rivers AEA Cedar Falls

The conference is for students to share the great work they have been doing with technology with other students.  This year’s conference will be Friday, April 26th from 8:30-12:30 at our Cedar Falls location.

This year we have an exciting new addition to the conference.  The AT Challenge!

AT stands for Assistive Technology and students are challenged to design a device utilizing technology that would assist a person with a physical disability.  Devices will be shared and judged at the Student Technology Conference.

The design must include the following:

  • A movable part that serves a purpose

  • Part must move on its own

Students will present to a panel of judges:

  • The purpose of the device and justification (explain how it meets the need).

  • A model of the device (can be a prototype).

  • The development process (emphasizing the engineering process).

  • The challenges you had in designing your device and how you overcame them.

  • How you made and/or programmed the device that made it move.

Watch for more information about presenting and attending the Central Rivers AEA Student Technology Conference coming soon.
