Iowa STEM Teacher Award
The Iowa STEM Advisory Council, in partnership with Google, is excited to announce that nominations are open for the 2026 Iowa STEM Teacher Award!
Now in its 12th year, this award recognizes full-time, licensed PK–12 teachers whose passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics goes above and beyond the classroom. These teachers spark curiosity, inspire students to see the possibilities in STEM, and help prepare the next generation for success in Iowa’s workforce.
Award Details:
- One teacher from each of Iowa’s six STEM regions will be honored.
- Each recipient will receive $1,500 for their classroom and $1,500 for personal use.
Important Dates:
- Nomination deadline: Wednesday, October 22, 2025
- Award recipients announced: January 2026

Awardees in Northeast Iowa
The Northeast Iowa STEM Region is proud to announce Dan Kuchera, Science Teacher at Clarksville High School in Clarksville, Iowa, has been named as a recipient of the 2025 Iowa STEM Teacher Award, sponsored by Google. The award is given to six educators each year who go above and beyond to inspire student interest in and awareness of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The award is given to six educators each year who go above and beyond to inspire student interest in and awareness of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
