The Iowa STEM Scale-Up Program was launched as a way to meet the Governor's STEM Advisory Council's top priority: Increasing student interest and achievement in STEM across the state.
The Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council will begin accepting applications today for the STEM Scale-Up Program mathematics menu. An additional investment was made during the legislative session specifically to scale mathematics education programs proven to increase interest and achievement among K-12 students across Iowa. K-12 schools, afterschool programs and other educational organizations are encouraged to apply for the programs to be implemented during a seven month period of the 2019-2020 academic year.
Three STEM Scale-Up Programs were selected after completing a rigorous review process, including:
- Bootstrap: Data Science
- Desmos Middle School Math
- Differentiated Math Centers
The application is now CLOSED The application period for the STEM Scale-Up Program menu closed on October 1, 2019 and award recipients will be announced October 31. The application will open again in January 2020

With the top priority of boosting student interest and achievement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), the Governor's STEM Advisory Council has approved 10 high-quality STEM education programs for 2019-20. The selected STEM Scale-Up Programs are listed in the right column.
Schools (public and nonpublic), after-school programs and other active learning communities serving students in grades preK through 12 can apply for these STEM Scale-Up Programs.
