The Northeast Iowa Family STEM Festival was held Thursday, October 27 from 4PM to 7PM at the Community Center on the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Manchester.
The free event had over 450 STEM enthusiasts in attendance. Attendees encountered 24 hands- on exhibits. We had attendees from 20 different communities and 17 different schools come to join in on the fun! Thank you to all of the attendees and exhibitors! It was a great night filled with fun STEM activities!
The festival was free and open to the public. The goals of the STEM festival were to promote, inspire and engage youth in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics activities and to introduce students and parents to STEM careers in the community.
Organized like a street festival or county fair, visitors were able to stroll from activity to activity at their leisure. All ages were welcomed to attend. Exhibits featured interactive STEM activities for students and their families. Attendees were able to conduct amazing science experiments, observe a variety of fascinating animals, perform surgery with a Laparoscopic Surgical Trainer, measure electricity usage of common electronic devices, and much more! Overall we had lots of positive feedback from the community and a great turnout!
